Tarte Lip Mask Therapy for Hydrated & Colorful Lips

Keeping your lips hydrated and smooth during the summer months, and even the winter months, can be a bit tricky.

The outdoor environments such as the heat, cholorine and salt water, plus the wind can cause flaking and chapped lips. I’m always looking for the best product to keep my lips hydrated and have tried a few, including the cult favorite Laneige. Recently, I’ve added three new lip products from Tarte—delicious and colorful lip masks perfect for both day and nighttime.

One of my favorite things about Tarte is that most of their products are vegan, which for someone with sensitive skin like me, is a huge plus. All Tarte products are formulated with a blend of naturally derived ingredients such as fruit and plant extracts and vegan-friendly options.

The Tarte Awake lip therapy lip mask comes in four hues including Watermelon, a bright but sheer pink tone; Strawberry Milk, a light pink tone; Peach, a light coral tone; and Raspberry, a light cherry tone. This lip mask is a 12-hour hydrating lip treatment that offers lips a barely there sheer hint of color while keeping them hydrated and smooth. They work overtime while you sleep and are also perfect to use during the day as the hint of color is perfect for daily use and no makeup, makeup days. The Awake lip mask contains a blend of olive, argan, and raspberry seed oils as well as vitamin E and are also vegan.

In addition, according to the Tarte website, Tarte products are formulated without any of the following ingredients: sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, phthalates, triclosan, formaldehyde, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclocarban, aluminum salts, benzophenone + related compounds, butoxyethanol, lead + lead acetate, methyl cellosolve + methoxyethanol, mercury + related compounds, insoluble plastic microbeads, toluene, bha, petrolatum + mineral oil, polyacrylamide + acrylamide styrene, xylenes + related compounds, ethanolamine, diethanolamine, monoethanolamine and chemical sunscreens.

I purchased these on QVC during a promotion and received the Peach, Watermelon and Raspberry together for $35, individually on the Tarte site and Sephora they are $20 each. Now, on QVC they’re priced at $42.50 for three shades. The only thing I don’t love is that they don’t come with an applicator, but you can always purchase a lip brush or silicone lip applicators online if you don’t like to use your fingers in the pot.
